Hi lads, seen football insider linking us with mason holgate in january, everton considering terminating his loan with southampton due to game time, have any of yous heard anything about it is there any truth in it?

Are we always going to target players not deemed good enough down south who nobody will want to buy and have high wages.

Nothing against holgate a decent player but is he much better than what we have?

Should we not look to sign Europeans younger on the way up that have international prospects?

Kind of goes against the model too unless things have changed.

I haven't heard anything substantial although the Liverpool Echo has said that he will be recalled by Everton due to lack of game time and I don't see Everton keeping him at Goodison as backup.

Personally I would not want us to sign him, even on loan. When he was playing for Everton he was a liability in a lot of the games and we might be better if we want a new centre back to look further afield or check out the lower English Leagues where there are some good young centre backs coming through, (in fact I rate Edmundson, who we let go, higher than Holgate) .

I think that Everton have a penalty clause in his loan deal that he has to play or fines are incurred, so we can’t or shouldn’t guarantee him a start.

Gers definitely sniffing around. He's young, tall and malleable and because of this short on injury. Can play CH (Preferred) or RB. He's also quick for CH and danger in air. Only problem is TF. I've seen anything from 7m to 17m. In England inflated market who knows?

Would like to see a few of the current free players brought in and some more scottish talent from the 17 - 21 range.

Souleyman Doumbia - French / Ivorian - Offensive LB - 27.

Nemanja Jovic - Serbian - LW - 21.

Connor Barron - Scottish - CB - 21.

Lennon Miller - Scottish - CM - 17.

And i'm sure i'll get stick for these 2 but hear me out.

Give Kent a 6 month loan, a chance to show us he still has what we all know he is capable of, doesn't work out, no loss to us he go's back to Fenerbahce either way.

Offer Morelos a 6 month deal, with the option to extend that if and only if he can re-discover his best form.
We are going to need CF options, we do not have a lot of funds.
And will need t offload some of the deadwood, therefor a feel these potentially are good club business.

Miller is the perfect partner for Bailey rice, they would be our new midfield, once Jack and Lundstram move on.

Danilo's out for 4 months minimum, likely the rest of the season.

And let's get Hagi back, he has well and truly recovered from his horror injury.

We are potentially going for a treble this year.
Even if we mess up the Betis game, and Sparta beat Aris we are out of the Europa, However we still have a guaranteed Conference League comp to play in, nit ideal, but to be honest with our current squad and funds, that is a competition we could realistically win.

We really have to stop shopping in the english market, it's saturated with scouts and agents touting young talent and inflating their value. It's like my wife visiting the Louis Vuitton store and coming out chuffed with a $200 euro broach when she went in looking for a purse. Get a handbag at the barras that is fit for purpose.

You are right laudruphagi - just like how u start your story with the young talent but don't like how u end with the Kent/ Morelos saga - these two should be nowhere near our club moving forward imo- no matter what sentiment is still lurking around! They both wanted better than US so let them find it I say?.

The Kent Morelos thing really depends on what's available to clement in January if his targets are available 6 month loan would be ok but I'd prefer we took a chance on a couple of unknown loans with option to buy or even a couple free agents 6months with club option of making it perm.

So Kent can relive his first time here by playing out his skin on loan for 6 months to get a full contract then taking his feet off the gas once signed permanently for 4 or 5 years. Cool ?? I agree though, we all know what kent can do, nothing.

we are going to need 1 or 2 Natural LW

with Matondo and Mcausland we have the RW covered.
Sima will need to take over CF position now Danilo's out for the rest of the season.
that leaves us 2 LW's short and like Gerrard and Van Bronkhorst,
Clement like to play with wingers in a more attacking european style with a front 3 of LW / CF / RW

The kent suggestion is a temporary solution until seasons end.
Suits both parties.
Clement has little budget to spend, but he has excelled in Belgium under similar conditions.

And Sima alone is not enough for a team going into a potential treble winning season.

Roofe is always crocked and past it now.
Lammers has and nver will be a solid CF.
Dessers scores once a month.
