Cifuentes and Danilo seem like goers but is there any updates on a defender coming in? Think we’d all agree the left side of our defence isn’t strong enough. Seems like any links to a defender has gone quiet. Maybe due to us struggling to move on Davies and/ or Barasic?

It appears Davies and Barasic not moving on is the problem there, looks like Davies wants to but to get £4m back on him now won't be easy . Barasic just wants to stay and go to sleep for half a game as per normal . If his performance v Newcastle doesn't prove he's a problem then nothing will.

I don’t think we will be signing another CB anymore. I think he will want to go with a pairing of Goldson and Souttar. Souttar is too good play sit on the bench.

Got to remember we’re hoping to get trusty or panzo for £2m so can’t expect clubs in same league to pay more for davies.

Zikos Souttar is solid but has also made numerous mistakes when playing including those in high profile games. He’s injury prone as well so I’d be concerned if we went into next season with him as one of our main 2 centre halves.

Storm no he’s not. Slow as a week in jail, constantly sleeping, weak, not good in the air and gets beaten all the time on 1v1s. Barasic isn’t better than Tav in any way shape or form. Should’ve been sold after we won 55 has been on a massive decline since then.

Barasic was at fault for the goal at the weekend tav was not. Tav clears his lines a lot more than borna don’t know what some fans actually watch. Barasic has a good cross and offered little else.

Just my opinion but Borna and Tav are both good footballers and are both good full backs. Both are attacking full backs and like most attacking full backs sometimes get caught out.

Storm how many times has Barasic been caught sleeping against Celtic since we won 55? I can think of a hell of a lot more incidents of that than I can tavernier getting caught against them.

I feel Kent sold Borna down the river plenty, but even still he is a far cry from the bandaged bloodstained captain we signed and has lost his bottle a bit after fome injuries. But to doubt his crossing He has a wand of a left peg.

Tav has been caught out more times that barasic any all the games played . David you can only think of the ones for barasic because you like Tav more than him. Barasic hands down 100% a better defender and stats prove this also.


Lazlo a lot less than what Tav has done.

I don't know what we paid for Davies, however if it was £3m I think getting that back would be a struggle .

I have never seen a player switch off or nod off as bad as Barasic, he was awful v Newcastle .

Tav got owned by Anthony stokes what more do you need to say

Tav shag it from maeda at Ibrox last year and is posted missing all the time when defending

And if ball goes over his head he gets totally lost

Look Its not that I don't like Tav I really like him but would push him into midfield and play a more defensive RB in big games.

Lazio defending at the back of Tav goldson is a horrendous job as they fail to cut out any crosses.

Were you saying same when goldson left bassey out to dry in Europa final by not cutting out cross this is what leads to barasic being caught out a lot of the time.

The only real one I can't forgive barasic for is not clearing ball vs Celtic when raskin stopped playing to wait for a refs whistle that never came barasic stopped too he should know better.

Liverpool bought Davies for 500k and one year later having not made an appearance we bought him for 3 million ? crazy deal on our part.

{Ed001's Note - he only had 6 months left on his contract when Liverpool signed him and he also asked to be allowed to take the opportunity as he knew it was his only chance.}
