Anybody heard anything about Kent or Morelos situations yet?

Morelos has agreed a move with a Spanish side believed to be Sevilla. Not heard much on Kent, murmurings that Burnley are after him, I actually heard there was an interest from Everton which I found bizarre.

Id like to see both sign again but surely they can't expect a wage rise good thing is we can re sign Kent out of contract and null and void any clause that Liverpool inserted. Morelos has his critics but we really can't do without him unless we sign another player with those attributes we just need to get everyone to knuckle down and work hard. I believe in Beale and feel he needs the summer window and pre season which is every bit important to work on inbedding his ideas.

TJ - would be more surprised that any club will take on the sour faced overweight moody centre who seems to rule the roost with his other out of contract pal - get them moved on and the club should progress because they seem to be pulling the strings and play only when it suits them - no major team ethic there!

The question is, have both Morelos and Kent been here too long and can we replace them with better. At present we don't have a serious alternative to either. Striker wise, Roofe is simply not fit long enough to put a consistent run of games together and Colak is a one trick pony that doesn't fit with Beale's style. As far as having a player with Kent's skill set, despite his not being consistent he is well ahead of any of the alternatives.

If they both go then I just can't see us signing any better players, especially since we need to sign a top quality keeper, a centre back, two midfield players and a striker just to stand still.

I posted on here weeks ago that i'd heard morelos has agreed a deal with sevilla for next season and now this subject is coming up again. I heard on the deal, it won't be officially announced until the end of the season, which suited all parties concerned ? Now there's rumours on here he's signing for valencia ?
John27 have you any info yourself on where morelos is going mate ?.

I'm not a fan of Morelos, so would rather see us freshen up our forward line with a new Striker that works for Beale.

I'd have no objections to resigning Kent though.

Gofor - understand your sentiment but if we pander to one or two players it send out wrong message - Kent and Buff are nowhere near the form of yesteryear so what do we do just re-sign them and hope for the best - like most clubs players become stale and pedestrian - I have seen better players leave Ibrox over my time and good or better players fill their jerseys so change may not always mean for bad as long as board are supportive.

I will be eager to follow Buff and Kent at their next clubs and see how successful they become or not as the case may be. New broom should sweep clean and hopefully if allowed MB can put a fresh stamp on this team as let's be honest the board have slept at the wheel as far as signings and freshening up team after we won the league - we assumed then that we were at the top of our game but football is dynamic and only one of the old firm addressed that in the correct manner and unfortunately it wasn't us.

Kent and buffalo are still good player but let’s be honest both are a shadow of there former selfs would like to keep them but with the wages they want think we could bring in maybe not better players but players that would be more effective in our league.

Not really John. but when it was so obvious to everyone but Beale that changes were needed after 30min into game and he waits till we go two down in second half before making the decision ? ooft I get people are angry and dissapoiinted but he has done well for us so far but need to cast net for recruitment further afield than championship and division 1 England been doing that since Warburton and it's got us nowhere. Except for one season where Celtic where in transition.

Onewalt - Cheers - I was a bit heated earlier and gave Alf some ott stick which I apologise for but I get angry when I see my club taken for a ride at times and I don't see us clawing our way back to catch them when we have so much uncertainty re players staying/ going/ demanding more money for let's be honest average performances - let's get hungry young talented players who want to achieve and will run their guts out for the jersey. To me that's what's separated the two teams on Sunday - pure effort hunger and desire to win EVERY ball! .
Jeez we were so slow to shut down that they could even do Cruff turns in their own six yard box relatively unchallenged - whereas our defenders were closed down and hunted like dogs - as I said before don't mind getting beaten when we show up - but we wee a no show in too many depts on Sunday - end of rant as am away for round of golf to take my anger out on a wee yellow ball?.

My information is that a deal for Kent has been agreed but following the same route as Goldson, the current deal will be allowed to run down so officially he will be a 'new' signing and the clause with Liverpool will be null and void. I'm told that Liverpool aren't happy about this and it could be challenged when Kent moves on!

I had heard that Morelos had agreed a new contract but now hearing that he hasn't signed it. Not heard anything about a move to Spain, but frankly I don't think he is good enough to play at that level. One thing is certain, he won't get away with carrying that gut around in a higher league.

I agree with John27 regarding Lovelace, although I only watched the B Team once. Him and Johnly Yfeko look like the only two players who are almost ready to step up. A few decent players in the team, but in my view they will need at least a season out on loan to the likes of St Johnstone/ Ross County/ St Mirren level to get ready to step up to the first team level.

We need to be in a position as a club where we can blood some of our young players as we have done in the past and I am sufficiently confident in John 27's views in respect of the young players he has mentioned. In order to do this and still be in a strong position to win the league and compete in Europe we need to have the quality of player in the Team and in the squad to allow our young players to develop.
Unfortunately the current quality levels of our mainstream players is such that it doesn't allow for us to develop youngsters without them risking undue criticism as we have seen with King, as an example, earlier this Season.
Put simply, we need a fundamental upgrade in the quality of players signed for a number of positions from goalkeeper, through central defence, midfield and attack.
Beale has a style of play that he wants to see on the football park and players such as Colak simply don't fit with that style. What is more, Sakala and a number of others in the team and on the periphery of the team don't come close to the quality needed. I have said before that I do not believe that one or two transfer windows will be sufficient to get us where we need to be but we need to add four or five top quality players this summer in key positions, get rid of those that are not of the quality required, where we can, get rid of those that spend more time on the treatment table than the pitch and let's start the rebuild with players of the right calibre with the correct leadership and winning mentality that too many of our players lack.
I would also suggest that we need new blood in the Bopardroom, solid investors with ambition to be the best club in Scotland at the very least!

Blue Floyd I get your sentiment also but what I'm saying is more to do with the board being able to replace a striker that over the course of his time at rangers has been a great goalscorer you only need to look at our track record with forwards to see what I mean when I say careful what you wish for.

It's an easy thing to say oh aye just replace Morelos and Kent and we will be better it's another thing to actually do it.

I'm not saying your wrong and I think the decision is already made for Morelos, Kent I'm not so sure think it will depend on what his partner wants to do career wise.

The truth with the young boys is you don't know what they are going to do until you give them a good run not 10 Min here or there that's useless needs to be a run of 4 or 5 games at least show some faith.

Sometimes players look ordinary around youth but Excel with better players will only find out if we play them.

Yes I agree we may not get better - but on the other side of the coin we could - life is a gamble - but these guys are stale and I don't want to be held to ransom by worrying where will we be if they leave - bigger and better have left us in past and we survived - No-one is bigger than this great club No-one. Our scouting should be on the ball at all times and even if we had Haaland as centre we should be always looking to the next guy to fill his shoes its the food chain scenario.
