Right from what a hear Kent has a sell on in his contract if he let's this contract run out and signs a new deal this sell on clause becomes void same as what goldson done makes great sense from rangers if am honest.

Im sure sell on clauses are in the contract between the clubs not the clubs and player.

Technically if the player becomes a free agent
He is no longer tithe club and if the club sign him will need to re register him.

Never heard of this being done until this talk of it with Kent. Is it just a technical loophole? Seems a dodgy strategy as risks him just walking away anyway. And don't really see the point as the sell on is only on profit over £7m and there never been interest in anyone paying anything like that even at his best. Personally I'd be quite happy to have to give something to Liverpool because it means he's stayed and become a player worth that much.

Clearly no one knows what is in his current contract? Me included, but if it was to run down as people suggest and liverpool were no longer entitled to a %, then perhaps that is money the club could use as part of a sign on fee?

If Gerrard gets the Leeds job . Kent will be off to join him in the summer. Leeds have been interested in him for a while, Gerrard rates him and it may give him the chance to play in EPL. Unfortunately for us it would all line up for him to go there.
