I said on here at the start of the season that a 3-5-2 is the formation that best suits the personnel we have at the minute. Full backs who can't defend, poor centre half's, often overrun in midfield and a centre forward who has to knock his pan in in order to press opposition defenders when they're in possession. A simple change of system addresses to some extent all of these issues.

It's only taken until half an hour into the last game of the season but said system change saw us go from 3-0 down to 5-3 up away at a good side. And we didn't look vulnerable until young rossiter came off as he protected the back 3 well. My point is that while we'd all like to see a mass clear out in the summer, in reality it's near impossible to shift as many players as we'd like. 3-5-2 would IMO only require us to bring in 4/ 5 quality players to show us in a better light.

I agree, we do not havs the players to play the formation of 4-2-3-1 Tav cannot defend at all.

Mate formations really don’t matter very much. If you don’t have good enough players it really doesn’t matter where you put them. We need at least 4 really good players through the spine of the team and it will make a massive difference

Bear2306 formations don't matter very much, that's hilarious!

Wilson0212. 3-5-2 formation was played when we were 3-2 down, not 3-0. I don't believe it's the formation that's letting us down, but the players. Current cb we have aren't up to the job. That will be the main position SG will have to sort out.

Even at 3-5-2 we shipped in 3 sloppy goals.

Of course formations matter just as a good manager that can change formations and personel to suit the game matters, heres hoping Stevie G is that man.
