McLeish will be in for xmas and now i'm being told that Murty and Barry Ferguson will be involved with the first team set up too. Here we go.

God, i really hope not. McLeish has been rank rotten at every club since he left us and i'm convinced he only done a job with us due to the squad he inherited and money we seemed to have.

Like you said he was rank rotten everywhere else except rangers, does that no tell you something. The guy would steady the ship and win things. He knows the league he knows what it takes and most of all he is a rangers man. With wee fergie Nd murty at his side I believe he will get us back up there winning games and getting a decent run of games. i'm not saying he will have us in champs league in half a season but he will get us there.

Typical nonsense from a so called supporter, MCLeish brand of football belongs in the 80's . You should be banned from this site based on the dross you post

Ron 59 - if mcliesh's brand of football wins matches who cares!

When MC cleish left rangers he did well with Scotland and won English league cup with Birmingham not bad record!

If ped gets bagged which is a distinct possibility I'd go for Tommy Wright! Has worked wonders on st J budget. won the Scottish cup etc etc. He would make us hard to beat and build us up domestically. Only then can we think of a manager that will do us a turn in Europe. Build it and it will come Bears!

Alex Mcleish the next Rangers manager. Give me a break there is a reason why his door doesn't get knocked in with offers to manage teams.

Tommy wright came up in convo at work the day the guy is a no nonsense manager, gets st j into europe every year on a shoestring budget and I believe he would be a great manager. As for the mcleish haters were yous hating him when he was at rangers I think not. Did he sign a few duffers aye but what rangers manager hasnt. Still miles better than the last 3 full time managers we've had.

I like McLeish but I'm not a huge fan of his style of Play, if we do find ourselves looking for a new Manager then I would rather have Tommy Wright in before big Eck!
I am still backing Pedro to get this Team clicking! If we can get a good run of winning results and can book a place in the Lge Cup Final the Support must get off his back and let the Man continue building a Squad that WILL challange! Changing the Manager will only set us back another Season AND the next Manager may not get the finances needed to build what HE thinks is needed! A new Manager will most likely want and need to move Players out and imo some of the Players that Caxinha has brought in may need a Season to settle in AND also get to grips with the style of Scottish Football! There's loads of high profile Players down South who took a Season to get regular first Team Football and show just exactly what they can do! BUT its because their playing for Rangers in this Football Goldfish Bowl, TIME! is a luxury especially if you have been subject to a decent Transfer Fee.
Anyways I think Pedro should definitely be given the WHOLE Season as long as we are competing for 2nd at the very least (AND I HATE SAYING THAT BTW! ) I had high hopes at the beginning but realistically 2nd would suffice. If Ped can get this Team playing, go on a run and if the Board have faith and decide to give him some decent funds for Jan and Pedro actually finds 2 or even 3 Players of quality, I would love to see us have a great 2nd half of the Season AND getting a result against the Tic!

Yes fod I agree about Tommy wright, but could he hack the pressure that comes with the job, I really don't think he could, but that's just my opinion

Everything will be just fine for us now just as long as we are playing Hamilton accies and Dundee every week that is. It's just papering over the cracks.

@JB - sacked 5 times since 2011. Aye sounds like a great appointment. How many games are you giving him to get it right? 5, 10 or until the next Old Firm game? Or doesx he get additional time because he's a ' Rangers ' man?
@fod - WTF has BF done as a coach / manager to get a role at Rangers?

@fod - its not a case of hating Big Eck, its a case of I don't think he's any good now and as a club we shouldn't be looking back the way. Just my opinion as many of the Pedro haters lime to state.

You're spot on union jack, i'm also sick and tired of some of our supporters, continually on here, looking backwards, by wanting to turn back the clock! Sir walter smith, big alex mcleish, graeme souness etc, have all been good manager's for us, but they've had their time! If you would back and give a chance to our current manager pedro caixinha instead of relentlessly wasting time shouting for old managers to come back, then it would be half the battle! Move on for god's sake! Why don't we bring wee wullie henderson back! lol

A few duffers? He was a terrible manager. I would say he was more lucky than good. He went something like ten games without winning a league game and finished third.

mcliesh was only as good as he was for rangers because of the team he was left .
he was riding on the coattales of dick advocats team and when it came to getting new players some of his signings where just awfull and when has he done even a half decent job since.

he is a terrible manager.

trust the one we have for now as for asking for his head its way too soon and he should be given a full season.

and we will see if he can get the right players in to help stregthen our team in january and if he does that then we must give him another season.
but only if we are not too far behind celtic this year and finish second

4everinroyalblue. So, your plan would be, to get Tommy Wright in to build us up domestically and then pap him oot for a manager who would do us a turn in Europe? If I've got that right, i'm off for a lie down cause reading utter pish tires me oot!
