This is a serious question:

Ferguson, Brown and Rae; i have nothing to recommend them for coaching roles and the majority of posts here seem to think being an ex-Rangers man is not real recommendation. What role would any of these three guys fill that would justify a big wage?

I know they are leaders but I would rather see a modern leader emerge.

Barry Ferguson was a tremendous footballer, was an inspirational leader and has Rangers at heart.

So, if he can help improve players by passing on advise and techniques that improved him as a player, get the respect of the squad like he did from his teammates when he was a player and has the best interests of our club at heart then there's no better candidate IMO.

Barry has the potential to be that. The others don't for me.

They won't be on a big wage so don't get yourself worried about that.

The manager wants him so that should be enough. He obviously sees a role there.

we need to remember that brown was in charge of pretty succesful youth team at rangers its also been proved he has an eye for a player as it was him who scouted carlos cuellar i would put him top of my list if that's the rd we are going down

I didn't think the role for a local guy was so much about coaching as a link with the players and knowledge of the league.

Pedro has his own coaching team so it is more about integration than coaching skills.

I would never in my life slag or dismiss any of these guys who are pure Rangers men and had the privilege to play for the team that they and we love 💙

Cuellar was spotted when we played against him in the eufa cup the season Walter smith came back.

Colshygers is spot on! John bomber brown did scout carlos cuellar and after he first came to rangers attention, bomber continually watched and advised our club to sign him!

Bears. I think the appointment of Brown Rae or Ferguson will be fantastic! WHO tho would be the best option? For me I would have Brown with Rae a very close 2nd. I really like Ferguson but think the others have more experience AND both would command instant respect and would be good at being able to put an arm around a players shoulder when needed, but also would be able to let a player know when they need to pull their finger out and recognise who they are playing for!

For me I think Fergie is still too young and players may not look or listen ti him in the same way. BUT I would not be disappointed if he did get it, I think Rae will get it due to his past roles but I love Brown and if he doesn't get it. I would like to see him at Ibrox in some capacity I think Brown could get an extra few percent from the players from just being around them.

Are you trying to tell us Alex Rae (uncapped, played 34 games for Rangers, won one league title) would command more respect in the dressing room than Barry Ferguson (45 caps, almost 300 games for Rangers, multiple honours, MBE)?

John Brown is an embarrassment and shouldn't even be allowed in ibrox. Let him stand on the stairs.

{Ed033's Note - and let him eat cake 😋
