He might try to get MacKay on the cheap. I know he is inconsistent, and soft as poo, but there is a lot of potential there, if developed properly.

Warburton is always going to be linked with players from his previous clubs, as this was the case when he was at Rangers.
If Tav was to leave we have Hodson, and it would have to be a decent transfer fee if Mackay was to go to Nottingham Forest.
Caixinha has just arrived at Ibrox so all fans need to be patient until he assesses the squad.

I personally think there's a player in Tav - he has all the attributes of the modern wing back; quick athletic good on the ball and can score from open play and set pieces. He obv needs to work on his defensive duties but a good coach should be able to help with that.

If warbs wants him, well he signed a contract extension so should have 2.5yrs left so will have to pay top dollar for him - fed up with the number of players we let go down the years when we could hold out for some sort of few - darren mcgegor to hibs a classic example

Hodson may be a bit more defensive than tav but tav brings a lot more to the team than hodson

I thought tav was outstanding today. If we ever were to do business with mw we shouldn't be selling players that can do a job especially once them and the rest of the team are given decent information if mw wants him he will have to pay over the odds

people going on like hodson is this class player and how is he not playing over tav? The reason is over all tav is a much better all round player and has a lot more to offer. People sounding like we have a Salgado in his peak on the bench and we are playing tav over him it's lee hodson and he really not that good he can come in and do a job when asked yes but if he played week in week out he would not be good enough.

That's a load of rubbish, hodson has been a standout when's he has come in. a defenders job is to defend and he does that, tavernier can't defend

Tav is better offensively than Hodson but it all depends how Caixinha wants the team to play.
We played a 4-2-3-1 formation v Hamilton which gives a bit more cover defensively to the back four if Tav or Wallace forage forward.

Hodson is a better bet defensively but I agree with Deanobear, Tav is a far better player all in all, he makes opposition woory dfensively about his attacking threat!

I remember us all slating Hutton for exactly the same thing when with us but truth be told he was a real worry for opposing teams! its a rare thing for a fullback to have that threat! let's enjoy it whilst we have it guys!
