Some may laugh but I have been told that RVP has been offered a contract. MW could not believe himself that it was being considered by RVP but he feels that he missed out once before and this might be a great chance to bang in the goals again. if he signs or not I am not sure but Dave King has said he will fund the deal first year and European football has to fund it for the Second year. if RVP signs then no defender will sign apart from a loan deal as cover.

Depends on who told you,? Depends on wether we laugh or not.

RVP went to Turkey because he wanted some big money before he packs it in (fair play to him, many others do it) if we are being even slightly realistic, it's not behond the realms to sign him in a couple years when he's well passed his peak, but now? Come on guys, I want to dream big, but seriously folks this is some Santa clause (insert expletive) right here. First we have to pay to buy him as he's in contact (maybe a few million if lucky) then we have to fund the Ronaldo sized wages. I'm not trying to sound a total grinch (following the theme) but stop on the RVP stuff, it's behond silly.

Well I can see the guy taking a big pay cut just to get out of Istanbul! No European n their right mind would want to be living in that city right now!

Two players my mate told me were:
Martin Caceres and Dimitar Berbatov.

Honestly, there's no chance we can grab palyers of the calibre of Caceres due to wages, appeal and competition for his sig. He's got almost 70 caps for Uruguay.

The best hope for us is to get someone who isn't moving for the money aka Joey B and Kranj. There will always be a team who can outbid us for the likes of Berbatov, RVP or Adebayor (especially with the emergence of the chinese, US and middle east markets- it all comes down to what they want. trophies or a last pay day.

Rumours doing the rounds (no source just hearsay probably) that the "sensational" signing being touted is a former top european star, who currently is playing in MLS. Probs nothing in it but we'll see.

Take from this what you will Bears. but Rvp wants back to Britain for family reasons, and palace and west ham turned down the chance to sign him. his agent has also stated that wages are not his priority in his next move. plus Fernebache will not demand millions for him. I know it's still out there but remember Waghorn said when asked about a new striker "the name eclipses that of Barton and Krancjar". Just going with what is factual.

When did Waghorn say that? Not saying he didn't, just asking. Anyone else find it surprising that MW is discussing transfer targets with the first team?

Rangers are 6/ 1 second fav stoke are at 5/ 2.

We are all bears, so I don't want to start a big back and forth on the issue, but are some folk on the absinthe? Even if RVP was willing to take a wage hit (which I agree he will drop from 250k to leave turkey) it will not be to for the 25-30k that we would maybe offer. If he did agree to a wage drop to below 50k, EVERY top club in Britain would be willing to subsidise that for marketing and shirt sales alone. Remember there's 'serious' talk of Barcelona buying him for cover/ rotation. This isn't the 90's folks, the exiitment is brilliant but I'm actually starting to shake my head in disbelief that there's still people trying to convince themselves he's coming to us. If any of the obsessed are reading our forum (which they will be) they be pissing themselves at this RVP 'rumour' nonsense.

Kingcooper your being a bit of a downer now. Too many negtive comments. You are probably right but let people have a bit of hope yeh instead of bursting their bubble.

Eez there's too many folk jumping on the RVP stuff and it's a bit embarrassing if I'm honest. Somone just posted about David Villa, which I was very positive about, as that one could have a small chance of substance and is an exciting thought. The 6-1 odds on RVP signing for us is simply because money has been put on it (bookies automatically reduce odds on anything when there's a betting pattern) if the bookies were in the know, they would stop taking bets on it. Marketing tactic.

Why has the nonsense factor skyrocketed again on hear over past couple days? Van Persie? Villa? What an absolute joke. Villa earns over $5m a year and has a year left on his contract, that's about $420,000 a month, or £300,000+ a month! Van Persie is still contracted until 2018, on stupid wages and would take around 8-10 million to get him having moved to Fenerbache for £12.75m.

Get a grip people, stop believing the nonsense some sad little liars would have you drink up.

Not disagreeing with everything you said Just2See but I beileve RVP only cost like 3 million euro.

I agree it is embarrassing. Rvp, podolksi, villa. its a rumour site tho right enough.

Aldogers, instead of just disagreeing why don't you do the research yourself, it is on any respectable transfer sight you would want to go look at, the fee was £12.75m.

17.) 27 Jul 2016
27 Jul 2016 16:54:47
Rvp is likely to go to China or America or be a bit part player at a top European level club.
This ain't happening nor did Ings, fletcher, Graham, Cummings.
Sell on value is the future and RVP doesn't represent that.

He was offered to middlesbrough but his wage demands too big. enough already.

Slat and odds came down for celtic which tells you everything about their chances of signing him reality wise, zero. bookies make money (shock) sadly the same applies to RVP to us.

Just2See - I did my research and read "On 14 July 2015, Van Persie joined Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe on a three-year deal for a fee claimed by Fenerbahçe to be £3.84 million. "

Read the same on various pages

Thanks :-)

King cooper . Considering half of Istanbul is Europe then I imagine plenty of Europeans live their, what a stupid comment.

Fenerbahce paid £4.5m for Van persie. Not that I am saying he is likely to join.

Just that its easy to find correct figures rather than punting about completely inacurate figures.
